Massachusetts Public health Commissioner Monica Bharel announced Friday night that she has tested advantageous for COVID-19.
"as the public health commissioner and a necessary state worker, I even have been vigilant about practising social distancing from my colleagues and participants of the general public," Bharel wrote in a statement. "My symptoms so far had been light. I actually have notified my acceptable close contacts and will leisure and recuperate at home, whereas carrying on with to perform my work tasks remotely."
Bharel has been a regular participant in Gov. Charlie Baker's pubic bulletins about the coronavirus pandemic, and is a crucial participant within the state's response.
but Bharel has no longer been in close contact with the governor, observed department of Public health spokeswoman Ann Scales. "The Commissioner's close contacts have been contacted and do not include the governor," Scales instructed WGBH information. "She has practiced social distancing and has no longer been involved with him in view that fitting symptomatic."
"Lt. Governor Polito and that i hope Dr. Bharel a fast restoration and are blissful she is improving at home," Baker pointed out in an announcement. "Dr. Bharel is doing exactly what everybody may still be doing, which is staying domestic in case you think ill and taking this virus very seriously."
